Arnold Local History Group

Arnold Local History Group

We aim to encourage and support an interest in the history of the Arnold area, including Daybrook, Red Hill & Woodthorpe. The group conserves and archives material of local interest.

We organise local exhibitions. Our 2019 exihibition at Arnold Library was themed on the 100th Anniversary of Arnot Hill Park and this year we will be focusing on the changing face of Front Street throughout the years.

We host an annual series of lectures on topics of local historical interest, attracting eminent speakers to our groups meetings. Group members also give presentations to local groups by invitation. For a list of current meetings and venue details, click the drop down menu above. All are welcome.

Whilst we are not a geneology group, many of our members have extensive knowledge of local family histories and may be able to assist - please contact via the E Mail address found below.
