My Dad was a joiner and he bought all his tools etc from Tommy Turners. Dad used to call him ‘Tommy Tin-tacks.’ His son’s name was Peter.

Went there for paraffin ,Lino, he sold everything you might want ,the smell was great all the products together ,Tommy and his son .

I was born and brought up on Saville Road. Our house plot was believed to have been on the site of Arnot Hill House stables and kennels as my Dad was always digging up bones in the back garden.
